David Laibson, Ph.D.

David Laibson is a professor of economics at Harvard University and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Laibson serves on numerous editorial boards, as well as on the boards of the Health and Retirement Survey and the Pension Research Council. He is a recipient of a Marshall Scholarship and grants from the National Science Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Sloan Foundation, the Social Security Administration and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Laibson co-organizes the Russell Sage Foundation's Summer School in Behavioral Economics.

Laibson has received the Phi Beta Kappa Prize for Excellence in Teaching. His research studies include macroeconomics, psychology and economics, neuroeconomics, and finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, and a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
